We are delighted to invite you all to join the watch party on Monday, October 28th 2024, 4:00 to 6:00 pm (Taiwan time), in the Research Building 250203 of the National Chengchi University, Taipei, Taiwan, to watch a performance of Lord Byron’s Sardanapalus prepared by Red Bull Theater, NY. Afterwards, we will have an after-party in the next room, in Research Building 250204 to have some discussion on the performance meanwhile having our evening snacks. We heartily welcome you all.
This is an event organized by the EARN team in coordination with Keats-Shelley Association of America, and the party will be chaired by Professor Jing-fen Su (Professor, Foreign Language Center, NCCU). Professor Li Ou (Department of English, The Chinese University of Hong Kong) will also be chairing the watch party at the English department of CUHK on the same day.
We will prepare snacks for the party, and you are all very welcome to join us! Also feel free to forward this message to whoever may find it interesting!
In connection with the annual Curran Symposium this year on Byron, "Performing Politics," the K-SAA received funding for a live performance of Byron's Sardanapalus as well as for watch parties around the world. It's a very exciting moment. So far, we have watch parties happening in Messolonghi, Thessaloniki, Buenos Aires, Malta, Barcelona, London, Oxford, Tokyo, Namibia, Pretoria, Nigeria, Hong Kong, Santiago, Warsaw, Shanghai (and Melbourne soon), and now we have it here at NCCU, Taipei Taiwan!
