【Sharing EMI Teaching Practices: A Dialogue between Teaching and Research】Registration has begun
We sincerely invite you to attend a lecture jointly organized by the College of Communication and the Department of English at National Chengchi University (NCCU). The lecture will be hosted by Professor Siaw-Fong Chung from the Department of English and will feature Dr. Ikuya Aizawa, Assistant Professor in the School of Applied Linguistics at the University of Nottingham and a member of the EMI Oxford Research Group, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Ikuya Aizawa will deliver a talk on “Transitioning from Foreign Language Teaching to EMI: Reflections on Pedagogical Change”, sharing his valuable practical experiences and reflective insights on language education. In addition, we are honored to have Dr. Chung-Hsien Wu from the University of Hong Kong as the panelist. Dr. Wu will present a talk on cross-disciplinary variations titled “Mind the Gap!: Disciplinary Differences in Reporting Verbs in Corpora.” His discussion will shed light on how English reporting verbs vary across academic disciplines, offering new perspectives on language use and academic writing.
