【Sharing EMI Teaching Practices: A Dialogue between Teaching and Research】Registration has begun

We sincerely invite you to attend a lecture jointly organized by the College of Communication and the Department of English at National Chengchi University (NCCU). The lecture will be hosted by Professor Siaw-Fong Chung from the Department of English and will feature Dr. Ikuya Aizawa, Assistant Professor in the School of Applied Linguistics at the University of Nottingham and a member of the EMI Oxford Research Group, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Ikuya Aizawa will deliver a talk on “Transitioning from Foreign Language Teaching to EMI: Reflections on Pedagogical Change”, sharing his valuable practical experiences and reflective insights on language education. In addition, we are honored to have Dr. Chung-Hsien Wu from the University of Hong Kong as the panelist. Dr. Wu will present a talk on cross-disciplinary variations titled “Mind the Gap!: Disciplinary Differences in Reporting Verbs in Corpora.” His discussion will shed light on how English reporting verbs vary across academic disciplines, offering new perspectives on language use and academic writing. We warmly welcome your participation in this intellectually enriching event that bridges theory and practice across disciplines.
